The Manufacture, labeled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant makes tapestries, exceptional pieces for the whole world. The tapestries and carpets are woven by hand on a low-smooth loom from the Aubusson Manufactures.
At the Manufacture Robert Four, the largest manufactory in Aubusson, tapestry is an artisanal weaving made from an artist's cardboard. The work continues by selecting the wools and then dyeing them in the crystal clear water of the Creuse. Its purity has made the reputation of the dyers of Aubusson.
The tapestries are then woven entirely by hand on low smooth looms (high smooth for carpets), traditional weaving tools, thanks to the meticulous and careful work of the weavers. The tapestry is a collective work of art, the fruit of the collaboration of the artist, the cardboard maker, the dyer and the weaver.
