Vibrant, Babel Brune objects are the image of the inspirations that feed them. Inspired by mid-century modern art and architecture, each of our collections comes to life following artistic impulses that drive us, give us the desire to do, create and have fun.
Babel Brune was born under the impulse of Clémence Barker Canler. For the past ten years, she has been crisscrossing Asia to develop new products and source decor and furniture for the European market. From the cabinet making workshops of Rajasthan or the textile workshops of Bali, she explored the materials and craftsmanship for which she was passionate. Back in Europe, she opened her eyes to what she had not learned to appreciate before these experiences. She relearns to observe, to be inspired, and becomes a real sponge to all this aesthetics which makes her vibrate.
Until this creativity became too pressing to not be addressed. It was necessary to find a way to welcome this creative bubbling and to respond to her deep convictions. She dreams of new ways of consuming, alternatives to the classic circuit of furniture sales in Europe based on imports. This is how Babel Brune came to be. By creating objects of character, mixing artisanal know-how and artistic inspiration, she relies on her operational expertise to express her creativity in an assertive and uninhibited way and to participate in the creation of new modes of consumption.
